IMD Weather LIVE Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipates the monsoon's arrival in Kerala on May 27, 2025. Maharashtra is expected to experience the onset of the monsoon in the first week of June. Notably, Mumbai is predicted to see an earlier monsoon this year, ahead of the usual date of June 11, 2025. Meanwhile, various states have been undergoing unusual pre-monsoon rainfall activities in recent days.
Weather Alerts for Northeast and Southern Regions
The IMD has forecasted rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds reaching speeds of 30-50 kmph across Northeast India over the next week. Southern regions are also bracing for heavy rainfall, with Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal expecting downpours on May 19-20. Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, and North Interior Karnataka will likely see rain from May 19-24, while Lakshadweep is set for rain on May 19. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam will experience rainfall from May 20-22, and Rayalaseema is expected to receive rain on May 19-20. South Interior Karnataka will also see rain from May 19-21.
Heavy Rainfall Forecasts
Additionally, heavy rainfall is anticipated in South Madhya Pradesh from May 19-23, Konkan and Goa from May 19-24, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from May 19-21.
